He preceded her in death on March 7, 1985. She married Arnold Feiler on May 24, 1986, in Bettendorf. Many years ago in the horse-and-buggy days, Lois taught in a one-room school in rural Wilton. In 1938, she attended and graduated from the former St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Davenport. After becoming a registered nurse, she worked in public health nursing. During World War II, she enlisted in the Navy and served as a teacher in the Medical Corps. After her service, she was honorably discharged and returned to Scott County where she taught public health nursing for many years. In later years, Lois was the school nurse at Bettendorf High School until her retirement. During many summers she served as the camp nurse at Girl Scout's Camp Conestoga where she was fondly known as "Jigger." Lois was a dedicated and loyal member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She participated in numerous church activities, circles and taught Sunday school. In addition to the church, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the White Shrine Drill Team and the Daughters of the Nile. For more than 50 years, she was a faithful volunteer for the American Red Cross. She enjoyed cooking and visiting with her many friends. She will always be remembered with love by her entire family. Memorials may be made to the church. Survivors include her husband, Arnold; her daughters, Carol Jo Brown, St. Meinrad, Ind., and Julie Leslie, Riverside, Calif.; her step-daughter, Judy Davison, Davenport; her step-son, Craig Feiler, Chippewa Falls, Wis.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a niece, Lois Caswell, Maple Grove, Minn.; a nephew, Gerald Miller, Osseo, Minn.; and six grand-nieces and nephews.
