CALLAHAM, DALE ROBERT, 29, Poulsbo, long-time former Bainbridge Island resident, died Friday, November 11 near Silverdale as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.

He was born November 18, 1964 in Bremerton, the son of Charles E. Jr. & Dorothy Bixenman Callaham. He was raised and received his education on Bainbridge Island and was a 1983 graduate of Bainbridge High School.

In his youth, he participated in Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball, Bainbridge Park District Pee Wee and Kitsap Junior Soccer leagues. He was a four-year letter winner in soccer with Bainbridge High School. He was invited to try out with the Seattle Sounders in 1983, and he traveled to Germany with the North Kitsap German Exchange Soccer Club in 1983.

He married Ronda Maurer. They were later divorced.

Over the years he had worked at the Bainbridge Island Jiffy Mart, Thriftway, Village Foods and then began his career in commercial ceiling installation with Washington Acoustical. He was active in his career until his death. He was a member of the Carpenters Union, Local 1144.
