Miss George Rowe Townsend, 91, died Monday, August 4, 2014, at her residence.

Miss Townsend was born December 23, 1922, in Bennettsville, a daughter of the late Arthur Douglas Townsend and Jayne Rowe Townsend.

Miss Townsend retired from real estate sales and development. In her brother's own words, "She was never bored". She was a communicant of Christ the King, Waccamaw, Episcopal Church.

She is survived by a brother, W. D. L. Townsend and wife, Sherry of Durham, NC; five nieces and nephews. Alexandra Corradi, Janis Page, Jayne Lee, Douglas Townsend, Jr., Sheridan van Wagenberg and Cabell Townsend.

She was predeceased by a sister, Janis T. Corradi.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Christ the King, Waccamaw, Episcopal Church, 10172 Ocean Hwy., Pawleys Island, SC 29585

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014, in Old All Saints Church. The Rev. Timothy D. Surratt will officiate.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
