Moses Dalrymple, 6th child of John Dalrymple and Hannah Rittenhouse Dalrymple. Moses was probably the first of the Dalrymple family to relocate to Fleming Co., Kentucky. He first appears in 1819 when he married Curdrilla Johnson on the 10th of March. He appears again in 1824 when he Mortgaged his personal property to Samuel Johnson. He appears consistently in the Fleming Count Tax list from 1826-1839. He also appears in the 1840 Census.

With his wife Curdrilla, he had 6 children, namely; Margaret, Hannah, William, Daniel D., Elizabeth and John B. Between the birth of John in 1829 and 1831, wife Curdrilla died. On 29 May 1831, Moses remarried Constant Arnold, daughter of Thompson Arnold and Susanna Holland Arnold. With her, he had 6 more children: Robert Thompson, James E., Lewis, Susan A., Mahala Ann, and Charles Luther in 1846. In the 1850 Census, Constant Dalrymple appears as Head of Household with children Thompson, Joseph A. (James E.), Lewis, Susan, Mahala, and Charles. This leads us to believe that Moses passed away between 1846 and 1850.

Constant came to the Rush and Henry County Indiana area in about 1853 with many of her children and step children. On 25 Sep 1856, in Rush County, Indiana, Constant remarried Jefferson Cox, a widow with 8 children, one of whom married Moses and Constant's son, James. Constant had 1 child, Florence Cox, with husband Jefferson. Constant died 18 Jan 1908 in Rush County, Indiana.
