ANTHONY, Kenneth William 'Ken' — 74, Beaver Bank, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2011, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Clarksville on April 19, 1937, he was a son of the late William and Ethel (Nix) Anthony.
Ken held many different positions, working at Municipal Contracting, Lindsay Water Conditioning and most recently as a bus driver for the Halifax Regional School Board. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Ken will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Juanita (Densmore); daughter, Stacey (Mark) Grant; grandchildren, Paige and Zackary Bartulik and Brandon Grant. He is also survived by sisters, Phyliss Lavers and Audrey Woodman; brothers, Ronald (Verna) and Blair (Mary); brothers-in-law, Eric Densmore and Ben MacLeod; sisters-inlaw, Janice Hart and Shelda MacPhee; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ken was predeceased by his sisters, Marjorie Rhodes and June MacLeod; brothers-in-law, Carl Rhodes and Harold Lavers and niece, Beth Lavers.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 23, from 6-8 p.m. and funeral service Saturday, September 24th at 2 p.m., both in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy. 354, Kennetcook. A private family committal service will be held in St. Stephen’s Anglican Cemetery, Stanley with a reception to follow in Stanley Community Hall. Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements are entrusted to the compassionate care of J.
