Mrs. Ollie Mae Jeffries Kitchens died Sunday, August 17, 2014.

She was born on May 26, 1921 in Jackson, Georgia to the late William Cordy and Mary Edwards Jeffries. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and spending time with her family. She was always looking for ways to help neighbors, friends or total strangers. She was very outgoing and a people person. She was employed by Avondale Mills for over 40 years. She was a lifetime member of Worthville Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Grover, infant daughter Peggy Jeanette, 1 brother and 5 sisters.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Russell Blankenship of Jackson; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Kathy Kitchens, Tim and Cathy Kitchens of Jackson; 10 grandchildren, Monty and Carol Cavender, Scott Cavender, Christy and Vance Beach, Alicia McGuire, Rachael and Robert Goodman, Lee, Molly, and Lucas, Billy and Karla Kitchens; 11 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her cat, Leroy.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ollie J. Kitchens will be conducted on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Worthville Baptist Church. Dr. Benny Tate will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home, 212 East College Street, Jackson, is serving the Kitchens family.
