James Alvin "Jim" Forrester succumbed to an illness at the age of 81. He was born in Montgomery, AL.and resided in Gulf Shores, AL. He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School,Saint Margaret's Hospital School of Nursing,both in Montgomery,AL. and the United States Army School of Anesthesia at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. He was also an alumnus of the University of Alabama. Jim was a 25 year veteran of the Army,retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and serving as both an officer and enlisted soldier. He was also a combat veteran of Vietnam. Jim is survived by his wife Marci of 50+ years of Gulf Shores; a daughter,two sons, eight grandchildren, and his brother, sister-in-law and two nieces.
