Margaret Louise Frazee Beckum, 95, widow of John Beckum, Jr., of North Charleston, died August 17, 2014, at Summerville Medical Center.

Mrs. Beckum was born June 8, 1919, a daughter of Homer and Ruth Bennett, and grew up in Bergoo, WV.

Mrs. Beckum retired from the Air Force and Army Exchange Service at the Charleston AFB passenger terminal. She was a member of Riverbluff Church, N. Charleston.

She is survived by her son, Francis "Rusty" Frazee of North Charleston; two step-sons, John Beckum (Frances) of Monroe, GA; a step-daughter, Betty Porterfield (S. Don) of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Michael, Bradley, Eric, Andrew, Corrie, Heather, Blake, Karen, Lauren, Sammy and Leslie.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis N. Frazee; a son, Michael N.; a daughter, Dolores J., a step-son, Donald Beckum (Betty), and her second husband, John Beckum, Jr.

Margaret was blessed with good spirits and longevity, and her children and grandchildren were blessed with industrious, loving, caring parents/grandparents. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Water Mission International, PO Box 31258, Charleston, SC 29417, 843-769-7395.

The family will receive visitors at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2014 in Carolina Memorial Chapel.
