Glenn Gordon Henkel was born July 28, 1926 to Helen (Endorf) and Rudolph Henkel at Campbell, Nebraska.  He departed this life on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Perkins Pavilion in Hastings, Nebraska.
      He graduated from the Campbell High School with the class of 1944. A veteran of the United State Army Air Corp, Glenn served his country from 1944 until his discharge in 1947. He was a farmer all his life and an avid motorcycle rider.  He was united in marriage with Marilyn Glee Burling on March 14, 1954. They lived in the Bladen and Campbell area for 45 years and moved to Hastings to make their home in 1999. They wintered in Ormond Beach, Florida for many years.
      Glenn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Campbell for 60 years and served as elder, Sunday School Superintendent and treasurer during his time there.  Following their move to Hastings he became a member of Zion Lutheran.
      Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant brother.
      Left to treasure his memory are his wife of 60 years, Marilyn Henkel of Hastings, Nebraska; a son and daughter-in-law; a daughter and son-in-law;a brother and his wife; a sister and her husband; grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
      Funeral services were held Thursday, 11:00 a.m., August 14, 2014 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings with Rev. Paul Warneke officiating. Interment was at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Campbell, Nebraska.
      Memorials are suggested to the Zion Lutheran School or the Lutheran Hour Broadcast.
