John Richardson, highly respected resident of Sauk Centre for nearly sixty years, passed away at the Soldiers' Home, Minneapolis, Saturday, June 21.

The deceased was born in Canada, Oct. 7, 1847 and came to Sauk Centre with his parents 59 years ago. On October 20, 1869 he was united in marriage to Rebecca Ferris who passed away March 20, 1917. Two children, Mrs. George Butler, deceased, and Mrs. George Bowman of Westport, were born of this union. There are three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and five living sisters in Oregon. The deceased was married at second time to Mrs. Anna Hoffman, who survives.

Mr. Richardson was a veteran of the Civil war serving from June 1864 to July 1865.

The five living sisters are: Mrs. Jennie Emerson, Mrs. Eliza Emerson, Mrs. Lottie Emerson, Mrs. Alice Biglow, and Mrs. Wm. Hawkins, all residing at or near Newberg, Ore.
