Horace Cooper was a farmer. He loved to play dominoes, and he socialized with everyone. He was a Baptist and he loved the Lord and his family. He was a United States Navy veteran.
Private funeral services were held at Waters Funeral Home with Bros. Tony Moore and Eddie Boutwell officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Ratliff, Mississippi.
He is survived by two children, Jerry Cooper (Gaye) and Jan Boutwell (Eddie) both of Mantachie; grandchildren, Nikki Cooper ((Tina), Bonnie Cooper, Carrie Wigginton (Jason), Amy Johnson (Chris), and Christy Boutwell, all of Mantachie. 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Sister, Delsia Prather of Baldwyn, MS, and twin brother, Harliss Cooper of St. Louis, MO.
He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Corrine Coggins Cooper, parents, Oliver Hicks Cooper and Savanah Cooper, brothers, Clinton, Luther, Neal, William, Earl, Bilbo, R.C., and Monroe; sisters, Ethel Miles, Ruby Hall, and Hazel Wilson.
