He was of the Baptist faith and had lived in the community most of his life. He was a retired auto mechanic.
He is survived by two brothers, Ralph Tison and Thomas M. Tison; three sisters: Inez Fulford, Opal McDonald, and Mildred McCrimmon; and several nieces and nephews.
