Clara Moland was born on her parents' farm in Dodge County, MN, the third of four children. She was baptized and confirmed at South Zumbro Lutheran Church.
Clara attended Flata, a one-room country school, and then Kasson for high school.
Clara married Jacob Lebeck May 3, 1930 at East St. Olaf Lutheran Church. A few weeks before their third child was born, Clara's husband died. Clara moved home to her parents' farm, where she stayed until the farm was sold to her older brother. Then, Clara, her mother and the three children moved to Kasson where she lived until she died. Clara remarried and had one more child, Mary, after her mother died.
Clara was a hard-working, easy going woman. She enjoyed her Norwegian heritage and was an excellent cook.
