Thomas Clough Zeigler, 64, of Fairmount passed away at 11:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

He was born on July 12, 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland. He married Joan Zeigler. He later married Annette Puzey on June 22, 1992 in Baltimore. She survives.

Other survivors include his six children, Thomas Scott (Brooke) Zeigler, Kurt Andrew (Michael Pitch) Zeigler, Michael Christopher Zeigler, Anthony James Schomburg, Gregory Alan (Grace) Schomburg and Andrea (Jonathan) Tunick; one brother, Leroy Zeigler; two sisters, Mary Louise and Norma Jean; three grandchildren and a god-daughter, Beth Walthrup. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam Era. He was stationed in Kagnew, Ethiopia. He was a police sergeant in the village of Atwood for 15 years before his retirement in 2007.
