Sarah was the daughter of John Emrick & Matilda Smith.

She married Isaac Bowers, 7 Jun 1874, Stevenson Co., IL. Note that their marriage record shows Sarah's maiden name spelled Emerick.

They had ten children. The names of seven are known: Joseph; Allen; Nelson; Frank; Ivy A. (Binegar); James Pearson; & Mabel B.

They moved from IL to Fayette Co., TN just before 1900. Isaac died in TN between 1900-1910. The widowed Sarah moved to Fayette Co., OH before 1918.

Son James Pearson Bowers married Velma E. Binegar. Daughter Ivy Bowers married Waldo Binegar. Velma & Waldo were brother and sister.
