Kenneth Martin Pendray, age 87, of Wharton, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 in a Wharton hospital following a brief illness. He was born on Feb. 7, 1922 in Vancouver, Canada, the son of the late William Ernest Pendray and Gladys Campbell.
He was reared in California and graduated from high school there. During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his new country honorably. While in the service, Mr. Pendray became an accomplished boxer. Following his time in the Navy, he worked as a building contractor for many years in California.
