Norma “Kathy” Vaughn, 68, of rural Galion passed away Friday evening, August 15, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born October 20, 1945 in Galion, she was the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Sanderson) Eusey. She married her high school sweetheart William “Bill” Vaughn on February 20, 1963 and he preceded her in death on July 6, 2003 after 40 years of marriage.

She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1963 and a member of Galion First Church of the Nazarene. Kathy was a bus driver for Northmor Schools for many years, retiring in 2006. She was a member of the Red Hat Society club and enjoyed bingo, euchre, quilting, sewing, musicals, plays and most of all, traveling. She volunteered at many Northmor School sporting events.

Kathy was known for her ease in frequent conversation with everyone including total strangers and creating new friends wherever she went. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet but spunky demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many by her constant love and faith. Her love of life shown through her laughter and her joking around will never be forgotten.

She is survived by sons Bill (Tricia) Vaughn of Lititz, Pa and Dan (Kathy) Vaughn of Bethlehem, PA.; grandchildren Caitlin, Taylor, Bryant, Brooke, John, Chris and Mike; sister-in-law Phyllis Eusey of Columbus; sister-in-law Bertha (Ed) Maglott of Galion and their children Brian (Kae Williams) Maglott, Scott (Billie) Maglott, Aaron (Tara) Maglott and Jeremy (Marcy) Maglott and Kathy’s special friend Ed Kyger of Galion.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by brother Steve Eusey and sister Sherry Dormeier.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel in Galion where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19 with Dr. Rick McCartney officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Park in Lexington.
