PITCHER, DIES
Charles H. Chaffee, 75, a resident of the Pitcher area the past 20 years, died Friday afternoon at the Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich, following a long illness.
Born Dec. 6, 1890 in Allegany, Pa., son of James and Carrie Pittsley Chaffee, he was employed as a logger for most of his life.
Surviving are a brother, George Chaffee of Pitcher; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Hopkins of Marathon and Mrs. Frances cobb of the Cortland-Groton Rd.; a niece, Mrs. Thelma Lee of Binghamton and a nephew Edward Ackley of Binghamton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Black Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, the Rev. Leon Cook, pastor of the Parkside Assembly of God Church officiating. Interment will be in Cortland Rural Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
