Herman O. McGilvry, Willard, was born to John and Hattie McGilvry March 16, 1916. He went to be with his Lord on April 20, 2008, at the age of 92. He worked for the Frisco Railroad for 41 years. He retired in 1976. He then went into farming and raising cattle. He loved to fish and he could ride his horses. He also would draw and paint pictures of horses or scenery. He was a member of the Central Christian Church in Springfield for 23 years. When he moved to Willard, he became an active member of Bois D'Arc United Methodist Church in Bois D'Arc for 47 years, before transferring his membership to Willard United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha; three sons, Tom and wife, Alice, Mike and his wife, Wilma and Danny and his wife, Vickie; and step-son David Tummons and his wife, Kay Ann. Herman was blessed with nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Nadine; a brother, Harold; and a grandson, Greg.
