Mrs. Padilla was born in Sanford, Florida on December 5, 1927. She moved to Bell with her family 36 years ago. She worked for General Electric but her life was always that of a Pastor's wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Bell, attended all church functions, was a Sunday school teacher, a member of WMU and GA's and a Mentor.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Rev. Frank Padilla, Sr. of Bell, FL; son, Frank (Mary Jo) Padilla, Jr. of Bell; daughters, Penny Miller of Cross City and Melody (Dwayne) Rollison of Cross City; brothers, Wilbur (Jean) Whitley, Jr. of Bell and Rodney (Diane) Whitley of Lafayette, LA; 11 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents Morris Sjoblom and Lula Whitley; step-father, Wilbur Whitley; daughter, Candy Dyson; brothers, Morris "Buck" Sjoblom and John Sjoblom and sisters, Charlotte Mayes and Gladys Fahle.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 5:00pm at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Corbin officiating. Interment will follow at Sonshine Memorial Gardens.
