"Thurel T. Beavers, 82, of Kent, died Saturday, October 10, 2009, with his family by his side at Kent Ridge at Golden Pond. He was born September 30, 1927, in Squire, W.Va. to John Bandy and Anna Belle (Beavers) Beavers. He retired from Chrysler after 30 years of service. Thurel was a member of the Kent Moose Lodge and the United Auto Workers. He enjoyed sports especially football and baseball. The family would like to thank the staff at Kent Ridge at Golden Pond for their loving care and thoughtfulness. He is survived by sons, Douglas (Michelle) Beavers of Munroe Falls and Rob (Cathy) Beavers of Massillon; daughters, Beverly (Brian) Jones of Akron and Pam (David) Wilson of Kent; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, R. Earl Beavers of Wildwood, Fla.; sisters, Lucille Jones of Leesburg, Fla., and Delores Jones of Leesburg, Fla.; and aunt, Wilma Gillespie of Vincent. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Ruth Beavers; parents, John Bandy and Anna Belle (Beavers) Beavers; brothers, Mason Beavers and John Bandy Beavers Jr.; and sister, Hilda Beavers. Calling hours will be held 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, October 12 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory in Kent, Ohio, where funeral services will be held 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice, 724C Alpha Drive, Highland Heights, OH 44143 or American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406."
