Wesley served in the Army Air Force from 1943 to 1947. He served in World War II. On January 15 1946 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel on June 9, 1970. Most of his Air Force career was spend as a fighter pilot. He participated in a total of 136 sorties 60 of them over North Vietnam.
Wesley married Virginia Rose Jackson in Pineville, McDonald County, Missouri February 9, 1947. They had two children: Linda Helen (1951-Living) and David Clyde (1952-2002) and step-daughter Jane Vance Tedder (1944-Living).
He is survived by his wife, step-daughter-Jane and daughter-Linda, and son-David Clyde. There are also three grandchildren. His brother Bernard died in 1936. His Father is Gilbert Osborn MacFadzen (1899-1988) and Mother is Lucy Vivian Dudley (1902-1987)
