While in high school she was awarded the highest honor in Girl Scouts. Starting in 1932 Mary was a dance instructor in Grand Rapids and on The Range. She studied dance in Hollywood and New York. In 1937 she married Jim Sullivan.
Mary is survived by her children: Timothy James (Darlene) Sullivan, William Walter (Diane) Sullivan, and Patricia Sullivan (Greg) Foss; grandchildren: Mike Sullivan, Rick Sullivan, Adam Sullivan, Jessica Myers, Alex Foss and Parker Foss, and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, brother, William Walter, sister, Arta Dougherty, and sister in law, Allegra Peterson.
Burial in the Itasca Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
