In 1781 David was drafted and served as a private in George Washington's command under Maj Rucker and Col George West. He was there at the surrender of Cornwallis and the marching of the prisoners to Nolan's Ferry. This was the end of the Revolutionary War.
David and wife Mary started their family in Loudoun VA. In 1806 they moved to Wood, WV and in 1810 moved to Highland Co, Ohio where they settled.
