John D. Brown, 52, of 614 Gray Ave. Winchester, Virginia, died Monday, July 3, 2000, in Winchester, Virginia, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia.

He was born June 23, 1948, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Anna Bell Brown. He was a member of the John Mann United Methodist in Winchester, Virginia.

He was married to Shelby Baltimore Brown.

Surviving with his wife are a step daughter Alice Carperter of Dallas, Texas; two stepsons, Larry Ferguson of Naples, Florida and Eugene Baltimore of Woodstock, Virginia; one sister, JoAnne B. Chambers of Winchester, Virginia; two brothers Sammy Brown of Berryville, Virginia, and Warren Brown of Winchester, Virginia. Also a surviving are three step grandchildren. One sister, Ruth Anna Brown, preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, July 7, 2000, at John Mann United Methodist Church in Winchester, Virginia. Rev. John G. Scott, Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia.

Family will receive friends Thursday, July 6, 2000, from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family

Ministry of Comfort was entrusted to Cartwright Funeral Home Winchester, Virginia.
