Bernice Palestine Galaznik passed away peacefully on August 11, 2014 in Lake Jackson, Texas. She was born on December 27, 1917 to Minnie Ezzell Bryant and Raymond Gilbert Bryant in Milam County, Texas.

At sixteen years of age she was the Valedictorian of Webster High School's 1934 graduating class. She graduated from the University of Texas, where she completed her degree program in three years, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She taught school in Edinburg and Damon, Texas before meeting and marrying Charlie Mack Galaznik in 1940. They were happily married for 54 years. Bernice was a supportive and caring wife to Charlie, a devoted mother to her three children, and an active member of Gulf Prairie Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed travel, quilting, square dancing, and raising Pomeranian dogs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie, and her sister, Gwendolyn Bryant Grossman.
