Biography

After a lifetime of service to her family and generations of children, Louise Kerr Trubey passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013.

She prayed that she would die peacefully in her sleep. God answered her prayer.

Born June 14, 1923, in Batesville, AR, Louise was the oldest child of Florence and Earl Kerr, who precede her in death along with her brother, Joe. Sisters Katherine Kendall, Mary Walker and Sarah Wilder as well as their families survive Louise.

Mr. Kerr moved the family to Oak Cliff in 1930, settling on South Adams Avenue.

During the late 1940s through the early 1960s, Louise was a fashion buyer for A. Harris & Company and Sanger Brothers.

In 1959, Louise married Robert H. Trubey and they raised their children, Bryan and Martha, on Timber Dell Lane in the Glen Oaks subdivision of Oak Cliff, where they remained until returning to North Oak Cliff in 1998.

Louise loved children and spent 50 years teaching in the 4-year old Sunday School department at Cliff Temple Baptist Church where she attended since her youth.

Known as Ahmee to her grandchildren, Louise cherished babysitting and then spending her last years in her son's home surrounded by Miller, Bennett, Campbell Louise and Manning Kerr.

Louise is survived by her husband Robert, son Bryan and wife Laura, their children, daughter Martha and husband Roland Fillion-Robin, their daughter Nicole, stepson Robert Meadows and wife Monica.
