A resident of Prairieville, she died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. She was 54 and a native of Pineville. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Saturday, Jan. 28, was from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Sunday, Jan. 29, from 11 a.m. until chapel service at 1 p.m. Interment in Blount Cemetery, Satsuma. Survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Kenneth Michael Blount; mother, Nevelyn Armand Deschense; daughter, Ashley Dawn Weaver and husband Kerry; three sons, Michael W. Cole and wife Jenna Lynn, Rod Braud and wife Nicole, and Kevin Michael Blount; loving pet, Maxine; two sisters, Debbie Wellman and husband Donnie, and Susan Armand; brother, Herman Paul Armand and wife Kelly; five grandchildren, Desiree Cole, Holly Nichols, Maison Cole, Taylor Weaver and Destiny Weaver; godchild, Crystal Landry and husband James and kids: Cade and Blaise and his son Haiden, and sister-in-law, Pamela Glenmeyer. Preceded in death by her father, Buford Armand; sister, Gail Ann Blount; stepfather, Ronald Deschense; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Betty Blount. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and doing notary work. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to assist with funeral expenses.
