YORK Ferna Lorraine (Beck) Landes, 87, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014, at Colonial Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, York She was the wife of the late Eugene C. Landes, Sr., who died on March 7, 1993. Mrs. Landes was born in York on August 10, 1927, daughter of the late Bernard C. and Ellen J. (Reid) Beck. Lorraine was employed in sales and waitressing, in addition to the WIC Program as a foster parent within different schools. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Hanover and the Vigilant Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include, two children, Eugene C. Landes, Jr. and Cathy A. Taylor, both of York, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, JoAnn E. Brickner and Lucy I. Hostetter, both of York, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen M. Boyer and Beverly A. Beck. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Bruce P. Bouchard. Final resting place will be beside her husband in Mt. Rose Cemetery, York. There will be a viewing from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , Greater PA Chapter, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
