Charmaine Miller, a resident of Seguin for the past 34 years, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013 at the age of 84. She was born on August 1, 1928 in Goliad, Texas to Virgil Cleyborn and Honor Billings Littlefield. She was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Harry William Miller. She is survived by 2 sons, Randal Miller and wife, Sonia, of Houston and Richard Miller and wife, Crystal, of Seguin; 5 grandchildren- Cley Miller and Shannon Stevenson and husband, Dave, of Houston, Jason and signifigant other, Jennifer, of Seguin, Madison Miller of Seguin and Kelsey Bertolacci and husband, Josh, of La Vernia; 2 great grand children, Haylen Bertolacci of La Vernia and Jade Miller of Seguin; one sister, Carmen Miles of Colorado. and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charmaine attended Rice University, Texas Lutheran University and completed her studies with a BA degree in Elementary Education from The University of Texas at Austin. Chy, as she was known to her friends, started teaching in Dallas and also taught in Sweetwater, Corpus Christi and San Antonio, but spent the bulk of her career being a full time homemaker and raising her two sons while her husband was traveling as an independent geologist.

The family would like to acknowledge the care provided by the staff at Guadalupe Valley Nursing Center in Seguin and the constant companionship and care from Chy’s dear friend, Barbara Lampmann.

People who knew her spoke of how sweet and kind she was – always asking about everyone first - especially when it came to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend and will be dearly missed, but whose memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 710 N. Austin St, Seguin, TX on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Patricia Jentsch Presiding and Rev. Keith Wyatt assisting. A reception will follow at the church after the services. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to a charity of your choice or First United Methodist Church at the above address.
