A truck driver he was employed by Weis Markets for 20 years and also worked construction for Elroy Showers, Port Trevorton.
Jay was an active member of Paradise United Methodist Church, RR Port Trevorton. He was a member of FLAME and the American Diabetes Association. He was an assistant coach for Little League baseball and T-ball. An avid sports fan, he was an umpire in the American Softball Association for Selinsgrove's Men's Slow Pitch Softball League for many years.
In addition to his wife and parents, surviving are two daughters, Rachel F. and Sarah R. and one son, Jayson R. all at home; two brothers, Daniel R. and Kipp E., both of Selinsgrove: and his grandmother, Edna Weir of Selinsgrove.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.
