Martin F. Cooper

Martin F. Cooper, 78, of County Route 50, Wayland, died Sunday (May 16, 1993) at his home after a long illness.

Mr. Cooper was born March 20, 1915, in the Town of Cohocton, a son of William M. and Louise I. (Conrad) Cooper. He was an electrical construction lineman for Local No. 1249 Union, Syracuse, retiring in 1979. He married Barbara L. Smalt, October 6, 1945 in Wayland.

He was a member of the Ingelside Christian Church and a member and past officer of the Mt. Morris (CCC) Civilian Conservation Corps. No. 160

Survivors include his wife Barbara; four sons, Gerald and Richard, both of Dansville, Paul of Hawaii and John of Wayland; a daughter, Darlene Fisk of Wayland; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bill Cooper of Dansville, Harold Knapp of Frankfort, NY, and Richard Knapp of Hornell; five sisters, Juanita Ringer of Prattsburg, Carlita Sherman of Branchport, Maxine Horr of Williamson, Gertrude Passaloqu and Adeline Eggelston, both of Rochester; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will ne no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 1993, at the Ingelside Christian Church with the Rev. Richard Millard officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ingelside Christian Church, Wayland Vol. Amb. Corps or the Southern Tier Hospice, in memory of Mr. Cooper.

The Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, Wayland, is in charge of arrangements.
