GEORGE BARNES
George H. Barnes, 79, of New England Rd., Dravosburg, died suddenly on Saturday in Kokomo, Ind. Born Sept. 6, 1882, in New England Hollow, he was a son of the late Matthew and Esther A. Dowden Barnes.
Mr. Barnes was a retired employe of the Clairton Works, U. S. Steel Corp., and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Wilson.
Husband of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Kegler Barnes, he leaves daughters, Mrs. Esther Williams of Dravosburg, Mrs. Irene Coulson of West Mifflin, Mrs. Marcella McNair of Gibralter, Mich.; sons Sylvester A. of Kokomo and Raymond M. of West Mifflin; a brother, Austin of Elizabeth; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Beginning at 7 p.m. today, friends will be received at the Elva. K. Whetsel Funeral Home, Wilson, where services will be on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in charge of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints. Burial will follow in Lebanon Church Cemetery.
