Yolan Aileen Mack

COLUMBUS - Yolan Aileen Mack, 79, of Columbus, died at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at the Medicalodge of Columbus after an illness.

She was born Aug. 28, 1926, at Baxter Springs to Homer Ernest and Glessie Lavon (Slover) Adamson.

She worked at the Berry Garmet Factory, and Kirk Grovery Store, and also was a waitress at the Dairy Bell Restaurant and was a dispatcher for the Cherokee County Sheriff Department.

She married Gerald Fee in 1946 and they later divorced in 1958.

Then she married John R. Mack on March 5, 1961, and he survives of the home.

She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church of rural Columbus, a member of the Purcell Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of Columbus where she is a past Worthy Matron, and a member of the Red Hat Society of Columbus.

Additional survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Timmins of Ormond Beach, Fla.; one brother, Ray Adamson of Grandview, Mo.; two sisters, Margie Higginbotham of Columbus and Marcia Mathes of Grove, Okla.; one grandson; two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Norman Adamson; one son Larry Fee; and two infant sisters.

Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Edgmand Cemetery with the Rev. Marvin Cleveland officiating.

Her body will lie in state at the Simpson Funeral Home of Columbus after 10 a.m. Friday for viewing.

The daughter will be at the Maple Commins in Columbus until Saturday.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Simpson Funeral Home of Columbus.
