FORMER FINDLAY FIREMAN EXPIRES
Herschel O. Beckwith, 58, a former resident of Findlay, died recently at his home in Hamilton of coronary thrombosis. He had been ailing for sometime but was seriously ill for the five weeks prior to his death.
He was born on September 25, 1896 in Putnam County, the son of Adam and Hattie Swanger, both deceased.
He married Stella Baker (Estella M. Baker) on December 31, 1920. They were married in Hancock County, Ohio. She preceded him in death in 1935. Herschel was married again and his second wife survives.
A son preceded him in death while a daughter, Judy, lives at home.
Three sisters, Mrs. Everett Reeder and Mrs. Inez Harpat, of Columbus, and Mrs. Olen Gibson, of Fostoria, survives. Four brothers also survive. They are: Roy and Ernest Oren, Findlay; A. E. Beckwith, Willard, and R. E. Beckwith, Milwaukee.
Mr. Beckwith worked at the North Side fire department while living in Findlay.
