John H. Baker, the son of David Baker and Sarah Van Horn, married Cassaannah E. Propst. The David Baker family Bible says they married Jan. 29, 1850. Catawba County Marriages records the date as Jan. 24, 1857 which can't be correct. Both the family Bible and the gravemarker give his death date of Mar. 1, 1853. After his death, Cassaannah married Aaron Speagle Apr. 7, 1856, which is another proof that John and Cassaannah didn't marry in 1857.
