Glen Otis Ferrell, 80, of Benton, formerly of Batesville went to be with the Lord on August, 9, 2014, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 10, 1933, to Colbert and Elocia Ferrell in Cardwell, Mo. Glen retired from Munsey Products in Little Rock and was a member of Avilla Missionary Baptist Church. He will be best remembered for his unfailing love to his family and for always serving their needs. He enjoyed reading, watching westerns, St. Louis Cardinal Baseball, and an occasional trip to the casino. His survivors include: one son, Jerry Ferrell and wife Mary of Guthrie, Ky.; four daughters, Sherry White and husband Mike of Benton; Tracy Holt and husband Steve of Benton; Tammy Carter of Benton; and Glenna Ferrell and husband Don of Vista, Ca.; two step-daughters, Penny Forrester and husband Skeet, of Westville, Ok.; Pam Otto of Madison, Ms.; one step-son, Kevin Casalman, of Wynne.; one sister, Christine Barton, of Bonne Terre, Mo.; one brother, Earl Ferrell of Paragould,; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces; nephews; and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Sharlene, one sister, Willota Pruitt; and five brothers, Jessie Ferrell; Cub Ferrell; Edward Ferrell; Ray Ferrell, and Troy Ferrell. A special thank you to Arkansas Hospice and especially Becky Messenger, RN for being a member of our family during our time of need. Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday August 12, 2014 at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday August, 13, at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton.
