IRA J. BRIZENDINE, 72, of Roanoke, died Thursday, October 21, 1993, at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. He was a retired employee of the V.A. Medical Center and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia T. Brizendine; son, Ronald I., Brizendine, Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia B. and Timothy P. Nagel, Roanoke; grandson, Eric R. Nagel; brother, Ray A. Brizendine, Vinton; sisters, Christine Brizendine, Martinsville; Hazel C. Campbell, Dublin, Georgia; Martha J. Nowlin, Salem; a number of nieces and nephews, including Alma and Phillip Newcomb, Ridgeway.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, October 25, 1993, at Oakey's North Chapel by the Rev. Claude M. Dykes and the Rev. Carter L. Sloan. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
