Mrs. Mary Smith
Rome – Mrs. Mary B. Smith, 72, of 412 Holland Ave. widow of William R. Smith, died Tuesday in Rome Hospital.
She was born in Noblesville, Ind., daughter of Edward H. and Mary Bruce Coverdale. She attended Noblesville schools. She was married to Mr. Smith in Noblesville in 1914. He died in 1969. She lived in Rome for 24 years.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Salvation Army and its Ladies Home League.
She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Robert E (Mary) Tyndall of Noblesville, Mrs. Clarence E. (Ruby() Croniser, Taberg; Mrs. Hiram O. (Fannie) Wickham Jr., and Miss Edna Mae Smith, Rome; six sons, Robert F. and Clement L. Smith , Noblesville; William P Smith, Sumter, NC,; Russell V Smith, Taberg; and twins, Harry L and Larry J Smith both at home; 30 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Martin J. Nunn Funeral Home with Capt. Donald MacMurdo of the Salvation Army officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Taberg. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 87 to 9
