Biggs (Special Dispatch to The Enterprise) -- Winfred Albers, 18, of Placerville, died shortly after 1 o'clock this afternoon from injuries sustained half an hour earlier when a heavy oil truck on which he was riding plunged from a bridge over the Cherokee canal to the creek bed 20 feet below.
"Gus Morton, 27, of Biggs, is in an Oroville hospital suffering from a broken shoulder blade and possible other injuries as the result of the accident.
"The accident happened when Morton, driver of the truck, accidentally allowed the vehicle to drift to one side of the bridge, crashing through the light railing. Albers fell from the truck and it is believed that the truck fell on him. Help was immediately summoned but death came before he arrived at the hospital."
