Anna Louise Alber was born January 4, 1889 in Reno County, Kansas, to Jacob and Mary (Kleck) Alber. She lived with her parents on a 160 acre farm. Her father did some farming, but her father preferred doing carpentry work. She was one of twelve children: George, Edward, David, Albert, Charles, John, Edna, Clara, Willis, Roy, and Wilma.

Anna married J.B. Albrecht on February 20, 1906. They had two children: John Jr. and Mildred (Miller). They made their home in Reno County until February 11, 1943, when they moved to Beaver Crossing, Seward County. They bought 200 acres located 1 1/2 miles northwest of Beaver Crossing in L precinct. J.B. and Anna farmed, raising diversified crops, feeding a few cattle and hogs and a flock of chickens. In 1949, the couple retired to a home they bought in Beaver.
