Funeral service for Roberta Powers, 88, of Roswell, NM will be at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Latter Day Saints Church with Bishop Jeff Savage officiating. Burial to follow at South Park Cemetery. Roberta passed away Friday, August 1, 2014. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Roberta was born March 31, 1926 to Guy Stanton and Ortha Robertson in Parachute, Colorado. Roberta love to square dance with her husband, avid reader and seamstress, wrote poetry, she was a very loving person who would help anyone in need, also loved serving in her church. She was a very grateful person and made sure she thanked all the wonderful persons in her life.
Roberta is survived by her 3 sons, James Wilson of Dolores, CO; Les Wilson of Pasco, WA; Vern Wilson of Woodlawn, LA; 2 daughters, Vicki Murphy of Parachute, CO; and Shari Wilson of Evanston, WY; and 9 grandchildren.
Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Powers and son, Kenneth Wilson.
