Edwin was a graduate of the Hartford City High School and afterward taught in the city schools.
He was stricken with typhoid fever in the fall of 1899. About the holidays he was attacked by pneumonia, which developed into consumption, after which he failed rapidly. Edwin was 22 years and 6 months old at the time of his death.
He was a very promising young man, and was well-known in both Blackford and Wabash Counties; his large circle of relatives and friends learned of his death with great sorrow.
Edwin was a grandson of Dr. James and America (Holton) Ford of Wabash, Indiana.
