Albert Hancock Gable was a son of George and Martha (Taughinbaugh) Gable and a life resident of Hartford City, Indiana.

Albert claimed as his wife, Anna Elizabeth Ford on November 30, 1905. They lived at 423 West Kickapoo Street.

Albert was a prominent Hartford City businessman engaged in the hardware business for many years with his brothers in a store known as the Gable Hardware Store located on the south side of the Courthouse Square. The Gable Hardware Store was founded by George Gable, father of twins Albert and Arthur, and John C. and Phillip.

Albert retired from all active business pursuits in 1948 but maintained an active interest in civic affairs and especially in the affairs of his church. He was a member of the Hartford City I.O.O.F. lodge.

He was one of the oldest members of the First Presbyterian Church, and was formerly a member of the board of deacons. He joined the church March 1, 1891. His parents were also influential and devoted members of the Presbyterian Church. Albert was one of the church members who participated in the groundbreaking ceremonies on August 23, 1959 for the new Fellowship Hall and Educational unit of the church. Both he and his wife were active in church work.

Albert's survivors included a daughter, Esther Ford (Mrs. Lloyd) Reasoner, Hartford City; two sons, William Richard Gable, Hartford City, and Edward Albert Gable, Fortville, Indiana; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Albert's wife, Anna Elizabeth Ford Gable, was a granddaughter of Dr. James and America Ford of Wabash, Indiana, and passed away just eight days short of their 50th wedding anniversary.
