Services Held Sunday For Donald Bair

Funeral services for Specialist Fourth Class Donald Ray Bair, 20, who was killed in action in Vietnam, were held Sunday at 3 p.m., from the Harleyville Methodist Church. Officiating were the Rev. Charles E. Osment, the Rev. T.E. Liles and the Rev. James Alverson. Burial was in Harleyville Cemetery, directed by Bryant Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Griffith, Miles Knight, Ray Harley, Donald Baker, Johnny Owens Jr., B. W. Parker, Harris Taylor and Thomas Smith Jr.
Specialist Bair was killed in action February 6 while in a scouting mission. He had been stationed at Long Binh, Vietnam as a radioman since his arrival there in November 1966. He was born September 23, 1946, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence H. Bair. He graduated from Harleyville-Ridgeville High School and entered the Army December 20, 1965.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Brenda Parker Bair, a son, Richard Glen Bair, his parents; one sister, Mrs. Barbara Villeponteaux of Harleyville.
