Alva N. Ewing, 64, of 1618 Willow Ave., Pleasant Hill Estate, died Friday in Christiania Hospital after a heart attack at home.
Mrs. Ewing , a cafeteria worker for 17 years in the Colonial School district, retired in 1985.
Her husband Sykes R., died in 1968.
She is survived by three sons, David B. of Mill Valley, Calif., Carl L., of Golts, Md., and Lloyd R. of Bear; four daughters, Carol E. Melvin of Casper, Wyo., Ruth E. Berkowitz of San Diego, Calif., Gayle L. Ewing and Lorie K. Hanby, both of Wilmington; and two sisters, Mildred N. Quigley of Claymont and Ruth B. Anderson of Wilmington: and 18 grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Peniel United Methodist Church, 115 E. Market St., Newport.
Friends may call tonight after 7 at McCrery Memorial Chapel, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, North Du Pont Parkway , New Castle.
