Lawrence R. Yager, 77, of Central Square, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at Birchwood Health Care Center, Liverpool. Born in Fulton, he lived in Central Square over 43 years. He was a plumber at General Electric Co. for 27 years before retiring in 1987. He was a WWII Navy veteran and was a member of both Central Square Senior Citizens and the M.I.A. Group. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Leone States; two daughters, Wilma Merritt of Baldwinsville and Linda Gerhardt of Liverpool; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Brown of Phoenix and Alice Hungerford of Delaware; and a brother, Robert Yager of Oregon. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004 at the Watson Funeral Home, Inc., 631 So. Main St., Central Square with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Central Square. Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
