Helen Jean Burton, 83, of Taylorville, IL, died at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Taylorville Care Center.
She was born June 11, 1931 in Sicily, IL, the daughter of Ernest "Fritz" and Lela Blanche Batty Thein. In May 1953 she married William T. Burton and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Burton was a homemaker, and formerly an operator for Illinois Consolidated Telephone Co. She loved her children and Grandchildren and especially liked cats.
Surviving are her children: Jill Whitfield and husband Scott of Taylorville, Kim Burton and wife Jenny of Tucson, AZ, Joe Burton and wife Anita of Taylorville, and Pat Burton and wife Sharon of Pawnee; seven grandchildren: Zachary Whitfield, Koree Leesman, Britt Burton, Cassie Burton, Heather Reading, Hayley Giannone, and Delaney Burton; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Joan Bollinger of Taylorville. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marge.
Private family services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, August 11 at McClure Funeral Home with Father Alan Hunter officiating.
