Quinton W. Featherston, age 87, of Glenwood, died Saturday, July 15, 2006.
He was born on September 15, 1918 near Glenwood, the son of Thomas M. Featherston and Etta Tackett Featherston. On March 14, 1937, he was married to Sarah Lou Huggins Featherston, who preceded him in death on April 3, 1993. On December 31, 1997, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Sarah Stewart Saveall Featherston. He was also preceded in death by his parents; fourteen brothers and sisters; his son-in-law, James Driggers; and his great-granddaughter, Brittney Fagan.
He was a Pentecostal Holiness preacher. He enjoyed studying and discussing the Scriptures and gospel singing.
He is survived by his son, Kennith Featherston of Mount Ida; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Loyd Love and Bobbie and Wayne Davis all of Glenwood; ten grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Maurice Saveall of Oden and Arvin Saveall of Mount Ida; one step-daughter, Dorceal Elder of Story; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 17, 2006 in the Mount Tabor Community Church.
Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery.
