Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie"(Fagan) Slowey was born on June 13, 1859 in Nashville, Tennessee, the daughter of Thomas J Fagan Sr (1830–1918) and Sarah (Reynolds) Fagan (1824–1904).

She was married on January 4, 1875 to Thomas Joseph Slowey Sr (1849-1913).

Lizzie was 84 years old and a widow when she died of a cerebral hemorrhage on June 22, 1943 at home at 906 16th Avenue South, Nashville. Burial was two days later in Calvary Cemetery, Nashville.
